I don't know, the price on the 12 Mini is pretty low right now. Walmart had it for $299 last week (any carrier, no contract). If you can do a 2 years device payment plan, both Verizon and AT&T are offering the 12 Mini for free right now as well.
Obviously, I have no idea what country the OP is shopping in, or if they are looking for new or used, etc. but there sure do seem to be a lot of deals going around for the 12 Mini that bring it in line with the SE in terms of price. At least for the holidays anyway.

Well that and if you prefer TouchID to FaceID.
Ah ya, that is a good point. TouchID definetly works better for some people.

I'm 16 months into an SE so I have 8 more months of payments. The SE offers plenty of battery to me since it's in the charger on my desk most of the time. So, for me the 12 mini is a battery upgrade on the SE and less of a concern compared to the various Youtube reviews

Can confirm, small phone was my priority, although 12 mini (was tempting to buy) might be better overall, you still get SE for like half the price of 12 mini.Not the only reason; the SE is less expensive.
