I was looking at the Airport Express and noted it's audio port is only a 1/8 Mini Audio jack, the same as on a 12" PB correct? Apple says the Airport Express supports Optical audio, which i take to mean surround sound on DVD etc (iTunes 5.1 ;) ?). If I purchase the audio cable (mini 1/8 to TOSLink) will it work with my 12" 1.33 PB? Thanks for any info. :D

Sadly not. The 12" PB has only...
Headphone out (minijack)
Which is totally different to the AE's combination jack, which delivers both analogue audio and an optical signal. The Powerbook doesn't do this.

The closest you're going to get is Dolby Pro-Logic, which iDVD mixes up to the headphone jack (since it only requires 2 channels). If your surround processor can decode it, you'll have glorious mono-rear channel 'surround'.

errr thats bogus :/. guess i have to buy M-Audio's Transit, goodbye to yet another USB port I don't have to spare :/.
