I just checked my battery serial number and it's on the recall list, I'm about 2 decades too late to get a new battery. It's only got 209 cycles and still holds decent charge, I was planning on rebuilding it with new cells anyway.

Does anyone know if it was the cells or the management controller that was the problem?

I'd be interested in any information related to getting a working 12" Powerbook (Alu in my case but shouldn't matter) battery - either to purchase or to (re)build (using the existing receptacle). I've seen a few offers in the past but either ridiculously priced or without any guarantee that it would work and hold decent charges (say 1 hour would already help a lot).
