My 12" powerbook died a while back, haven't messed with it in quite a while. I recently became aware of some files that I need to access, and they are on the dead mac. I took it apart and removed the HD, my question is, is there a way to access that info through a usb enclosure, or some other method cheaper than tracking down another machine on ebay.

newegg.com has usb enclosures for decent prices. This would be the easiest. If you want a brick-and-mortar store, Best Buy has some too, I think.

Also... PowerBook 12" uses the PATA/IDE type of HD enclosures.
Don't buy the SATA version, cause they won't physically fit!!
