My MagSafe just came in today and its a no go with my Defender Pro case. Your right that it does work if you remove the rubber cover but that would ruin it pretty quick taking it off every night. I trust my Defender case to protect my uninsured 12 Pro Max so no wireless for me. Strange thing is my 10 XS Max in a Defender case worked fine on the older style wireless charger. Feel Apple took a backwards step here.

We got the Otterbox Defender, and, well, MagSafe is not working with it. It's not at all. No matter where the 'puck' is, there is just too much plastic and rubber to get through. Disappointed, and getting yelled at for spending so much money to get a case the day the phone arrived.

Is there a 12 Pro Max holster case that is MagSafe compatible? I suppose the Defender case might work if the rubber over case is taken off, but that's a PITA every time to charge. Might as well just use a cord.

And, yeah, we need the holster/clip...

Thanks for any help...
I use the Encased holster for the Thin Armor and use it with the Apple Silicone MagSafe Case for my iPhone 12. The holster fits perfectly with the MagSafe case. I'm assuming the one for the iPhone 12 Pro Max will also fit with the silicone case. Encased makes a strong holster and I have used them with no complaints for several generations of iPhones.

I just got the clear Apple case. Not that I like how it looks but I wanted something clear and the one I got without MagSafe wasn’t strong enough for my wallet

And my next question to *someone* was: Do older Qi chargers work with the 12 Pro Max? I've heard it both ways, yes, and some saying no. The 10s Max worked, like you said, but would occasionally not charge, so... If the 12 (I'll experiment tonight I guess) doesn't work with an older 'standard' charger, then Apple really did take a giant step (somewhere)...

I have an Anker PowerWave 7.5 that I used with my 8+ and it works perfectly with my 12 Pro Max. I've tried two cases thus far. Otterbox Symmetry and Apple silicone. No issues at all.

Regarding the Symmetry case. I have sort of a love/hate going on with it. The protection is great. Has a thick bumper which adds bulk to the frame which is both good and bad. It's got plenty of grip so that's good. What I don't like about the case is the buttons are really thick and makes using the buttons harder to do than it should be. It also does not go on or come off easily. I suppose that is both good and bad also.

I got the clear Otterbox Symetry case, just in case the Defender gets too hard to live with.

Sorry for the possible stupid question, but: Do the Apple MagSafe actually attach to the 12 with magnets too? It doesn't seem clear if they do, or not... Thanks...

I don’t have it yet - It’s actually coming today.

I didn’t try my old charger with the 12 before I put the OB on but I did try it with the OB and I could do enough moving around to get a connection but it wouldn’t hold. If I take my case off I will try it.
