I was just offered a MacBook Pro with a 2.53 Ghz Proc, 4 GB of 1067 MHz Ram, 15 inch screen and a 320 GB HDD, but it is the last generation (aka has the battery, hard drive and RAM compartment at the back (?) of the machine. Is this a good deal? Is the batter worth waiting and spending potentially $1000 more? Also, does this machine come with the 9600M dedicated processor? Because all last-Gens did, right?

Thanks for you thoughts

Wow. Thank you for the bleeding fast responses. Here's the only confusing detail: he cited the Manufacture # as Z0G01LL/A. Should it not be wither MB470LL/A or MB471LL/A?

Thanks again. I think I am gonna do it.
But how is the battery life in those models?

you will also get an expresscard slot ;)
and dedicated 512MB 9600m gfx chip.
its a great deal, i paid over 2k for exactly the same machine(new of course). and the performance, except battery, is on par with the new gens..
id say go for it, no brainer. of course if its in good condition!

Well if it actually is one of the MB numbers than your getting exactly what hes saying, if its the Z0 number than just quielty accept it knowing your getting a slightly faster processor:)

Remember if it does happen to be a NEW (June) 2.53Ghz, those do not have the 9600M GT.

The model number of what you described is MB471LL/A
