i have tried everything and all i get is error messages. the first one is the session can not be started with ipod. so i go to dfu mode which says error 3194. so i try to downgrade to 3.1.2 and i get the message error 1604. i also tried changing the host files and turning off my firewall. my ipod is jailbroken i think but cydia is grayed out. i have a ipod touch 2gen model mb528ll.

If you saved older SHSH then you can restore to the old iOS.

You cannot get older SHSH anywhere if you did not save it.

Exactly. It's not as easy as just restoring to it or going into DFU mode. You have to have your old SHSH blobs to go back.

Well if you don't know what SHSH blobs are, you probably didn't save them, so restoring back to an older version of iOS is now impossible for you.
