My SSD is on the UPS truck, and for the life of me I can't find a screwdriver. I "stole" two from my dad back when I was home, but have no clue where they are. I "remember" exactly where I put/keep them, but no luck. Anyway, where would sell a #00 Phillips? Just a quick list of stores near me that I can think of; Lowes, Home Depot, RadioShack, Target, there's a "super" walmart that is kinda far away, obviously there's a ton more places but that's what I can think of right now.

Thanks guys, I'll be sure to post up a review/benchmarks later tonight: Vertex3 in a 7,1 with SATA2, want to see if it's any different than running a Vertex2

just buy one of those "watch" kits they come with all the small screwdrivers with standard, Hex and Torx

Here's
the one I use at work, it's perfect!

I picked it up at the source for 20$

Cool, so like Home Depot should have something like that? I'll be honest, I have no idea what a "The Source" is lol, is it Canadian only? (and I don't know if home depot is US only, it's like a big home improvement store)

It used to be Radioshack, they got bought out. I didn't think it was only canadian but I've been wrong before

Went to RadioShack and got a 20 piece electronics screwdriver set with both #00 and T6 and tons of others for $16.

I'm sure I could have found them online for $0.99, but I want to install my SSD the second I get it lol

I know the feeling, I am getting my refurb 2011 MBP 13" tomorrow.. I can't wait!

Enjoy!!! I didn't know about the refurb store when I got my 7,1 but now that I do all my Macs are coming from there; there really is no reason not to buy from there. Refurb + AppleCare = "new" price more or less

----------

I got one #00, 000 combo from Lowes, couple dollars I think.
I actually went to Lowes first(closer to my house) and the smallest they had was #0

I want to upgrade to an SSD and 8GB memory so I won't be eligible for AC. Otherwise I would.

What type of SSD did you buy? I have a OCZ Vertex II and man does it fly, you'll never go back to conventional HDD as your boot drive once you use an SSD. It's amazing!!

HD and RAM are user serviceable and should mess with AppleCare.

I ordered a 120 GB Vertex 3, and actually have 8GB of RAM on the way also(a few days behind the SSD).

Just installed a ssd on my 2011 MBP (Crucial M4 128).

It was more difficult to remove the screws vs replacing drive and firmware.

Unless you break something those upgrades will not affect your warranty or AC - they won't be covered but everything else will.
