I can see this being the catch. But wow this is a very poor decision on Sprint's part. Who will jump over to Sprint for a 15 month old phone? I mean really???

No kidding, you can get last years iPhone or the brand new Galaxy S2 or Windows Mango phone on Sprint.

Unless the iPhone4S is slight bump spec ? Maybe more RAM ? And I would hope it least comes with iOS5 pre-installed ?

The source: Sprint sales rep - dont know how much truth there is with this one.

But maybe Apple just told Sprint they are getting the iPhone 4 so that they dont have to give any details away whatsoever about the next iPhone?

it would actually be a "new" phone to sprint's users and you'd be surprised at how many people on that network want one

Yea, but that's not gonna attract a lot of new customers. Would put them nowhere the amount of subscribers they could get with the iPhone 5.

Verizon did this with the iPhone 4. They told associates they were getting the 3GS, according to TUAW.

But Verizon for the iPhone 4 seven months after it launched, and the word is Sprint will get the iPhone5, but not until next Spring, just like the Verizon delay had on the i4.

I will be bummed if this is true, as I hate AT&T and want to move back to Sprint. If true, I will just do a cheap pay as you go on my 3GS and wait till the iPhone 6 comes out on Sprint( don't want to jump on the iPhone 5 mid cycle). That or get a Galaxy S2.
