As the name implies, it's a bumper, not a case. It simply covers the perimeter (edge) of the phone, leaving the front and back exposed.

This kind of question is very subjective. Personally I think bumpers are god-awful ugly and make the iPhone 4 look like a fun-fair dodge-em' car. YMMV.

I've had both the Apple version and the cheapos from Deal Extreme.

Theres is a huge difference in quality and materials between the two. The Apple version has metal buttons and fits nicely. The Deal Extreme are garbage cheap feeling no metal buttons and the colors are very odd.

You get what you pay for

You'd REALLY like the Graft Concepts case then, haha. It's $60. I paid it though and can't wait for it to come in.
