So I think I am pretty much set on the 11" ultimate so now I want to get a sleeve for it. Has anyone tried one of these:

I am in the UK so it would be a case of ordering from USA and getting delivered, but I would prefer something I can get here is possible.

Basically want the smallest, sleek sleeve that has good protection. Any suggestions welcome.

Also as a side note what d people think about skins? I like the black one (not sure which make) but then I think I am going to start adding weight etc and a sleeve and a skin could be overkill!

That is nice looking. I have a grid it sleeve (made out of the same material) I use. It is nice but you need to air it out with some bounce sheets to get rid of the strong smell. I am leery of using any type of skin in case they would block the air flow causing overheating. I do use a plastic like case which has the vent slots on the bottom. Have had no problems with it and it protects against marking etc without adding weight. Then I can just put it in whatever case I am using and not worry.

Untype Sleeve

Hi Ukmacman,

I'm not sure whether they're available in the UK yet but I've seen them in Paris. The Untype sleeve is the one that I purchased and I'm a big fan.

Pros: Very light
Looks very modern/sleek
Very durable
Hand-made with Merino Wool

Cons: A little pricey (but try to find a coupon and it won't be too bad).

Here's the one I got:

Thanks Opt and hex for the suggestions. I think I kind of like the neoprene ones as they seem to protect my current macbook well. But they do both look nice.

If you don't want to spend a lot of money, this one is good: http://www.amazon.com/STM-dp-2140-1...YZK8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1320190009&sr=8-2

It has a low-profile carrying handle, a removable shoulder strap, and a pocket for the charger. I think those things are necessary, so I ordered that one.

If you want a simple sleeve, this is another option at a great price: http://www.amazon.com/Speck-PixelSl...2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1320190111&sr=1-2

I personally can't justify spending more than $25 for a sleeve or case.

As for skins, I think they ruin the amazing beauty of the macbook air. :D If you're careful with it, you won't need one.

I personally use a Waterfield case and it's one of the best quality cases I've ever seen. The extra price is worth it and I can't tell you how much I love this sleeve. I also can't stress enough how superb the quality is. You will not be disappointed. :D

I like the Tucano Elements sleeve for the MacBook Air. It has a flap inside to prevent scratching from the zipper.

i purchased my 11" air just as it first came out...so there were not many choices in cases

for my 1G MBA 13" i had used an incase neoprene sleeve, and really liked how durable, thin and easy to use the sleeves are

but i saw a closeout sale on a 10.2" netbook sleeve at my local target. i think i may have paid about $8 for it; cheap enough to give it a try...

it works great. the fit is tight, but it does fully encase my 11". the zipper is a little slow around the corners, but it does close.

anyway, since incase stopped making netbook cases, you should be able to find these at deep discount around the web.
