Hiya,

Apple's press release clearly states that pre-orders for the 4S in Hong Kong and South Korea (amongst several other countries) start today, Friday November 4th.

Source: http://www.apple.com/pr/library/201...-in-Hong-Kong-South-Korea-on-November-11.html

Customers will be able to pre-order iPhone 4S beginning on Friday, November 4.*
(the pre-order exclusion countries don't include SK nor HK)

Right now, it's 1:00 AM here in Hong Kong on November 4th and the Apple page still hasn't updated to show the 4S available. Nor has the Korean page updated yet, and it's 2:00 AM over there (KST). Anyone know roughly when to expect it available?

Thanks

Wondering the same thing myself. Stopped by the HK Apple store today and they had no idea when pre-orders would start. Guess we just have to keep on refreshing.

Does anyone remember at what time the 4S was available for order on the online Apple store in Singapore etc?

Meh I was up till 12:01AM new zealand time and pre-orders didn't go up

It will most likely go up at 12:01AM Pacific Standard Time

What if we miss the start of the online pre-order?

Will the second batch of pre-orders be delivered 1-2 weeks after the actual order time, or 1-2 weeks after launch day?

It just went live around 10 mins ago.

Placed my order of 2 iPhone 4S :D

I tried Apple HK website couple of times just after midnight. Nothing.
Tried at 7am before work. Nothing.

Had a gap at 8.55am. Was live. It said you could order then wait around 2-3 weeks for delivery. Tried to order, but kept crashing. By 9.05 after a few more crashes, it said unavailable.

Interestingly - it stated 1 customer could buy 10 units. My bet is they'll be out on the grey market the day after delivery, with a couple of thousand $ marked up.

Damn. Got up at 7am, nothing on the store yet.

Got to work, 9am, and everything's already 'currently unavailable'.

Argh. Probably just going to pay the ~HK$1500 markup at 先達, if supply (ie no supply) is anything like last year's iPhone 4 launch.

No idea- Singapore, where the 4S started being available for pre-order 2 weeks ago, is still listed at currently unavailable.

Delivery of the first batch is supposed to be 11/22 ~ 12/6.

Lucky. What's the estimated arrival date?

Which country?

He's talking about Hong Kong's ifc Apple store.

They've been available on the grey market since late last month ;) Prices dropped from roughly 100% markup to around $1500 markup now.

and yeah, quite interesting that they're letting people order 10 pcs per person, since the 4 was limited 2/person. Probably contributed to it selling out so fast- no chance for an actual user to order one, only for companies to order bunches at a time.

If like last year, we only have to wait until, uuum, next April or May, right?

Yeah, I know. Was afraid to go ask the price.

Since the 4 came out in June and the 4S in October... you're probably looking at July 2012 until stock is somewhat stable :(

There'll probably be some available in carrier stores though. I got my 4 on Three on launch day in HK (July 30 2010 I think?) after registering online.

price.com.hk is your friend ;) Search for the item, click on the link and see all the aggregated prices over the past few days.

I guess Apple would like some new record or something... lifting the per customer orders to 10 phones is like encouraging reselling!

99% of the phones will be in the grey market, on the way to mainland China...

Never second guess Apple, they will do anything to sell more phones.

If they set the limit to 2 per person like last year, they'd still sell out, only they'd have more actual customers, not just companies looking to make a profit.

I think most of them are individuals not companies.

Fine then- individuals looking to turn a profit. I don't know too many individuals who need 10 iPhones. Shouldn't Apple be more concerned about actual users who want the device, not just people who want to profit?

Sorry to hear! It went on sale at 8:30am. I got mine exactly at that time.

Looks like I just missed the order window (8:30 ~ 9:00) :( Off to 先達 after work I guess.

The confirmation email I got from Apple said 15th to 22nd of November

Cool, thanks.
