So I was finally able to reserve and pick up a device only 4S from the Apple store, crossing fingers it would be unlocked. If not, I can take it back within 30 days and get the official unlocked version when it comes out.

After unpacking the iPhone, I plugged it into the MBP to activate via iTunes. I got that wonderful "Congratulations! Your iPhone is unlocked" message.

So I put my Orange UK sim in there anyway just to check. The sim registers but where it should say AT&T, it says "310-410." And i can't make calls w/ the Orange sim. Works just fine when the AT&T sim is in there. And the Orange sim works fine in the jailbroken/unlocked 3GS I have.

Anyone know what could be causing this? This is the screen shot of the unlocked message.
