1280 X 1024 external on Rage equiped ibook?

Has anyone figured out how to get higher than 1024X768 external resolutions on the non-radeon, ie Rage 8mb ibooks? I don't need to span the desktop, I just want to use a higher resultion external monitor. 8mb of ram should be more than enough to cope with a resolution of 1280X1024. Incidentally this is for a 600mhz ibook.

there are hacks to enable you to do this - search the boards for it and you should find what you're looking for.

MAKE SURE YOU CHECK WHAT VERSION IBOOK YOU HAVE AS YOU COULD COMPLETELY SCREW IT.

Won't work on Rage ones, Radeons only, sorry.
