1280x800 plugged into Cinema Display

OK, so I plugged my rMBP into an older 30" cinema display and it has a max resolution of 1280x800....

My 24" dell works fine at 1920x1200. Anyone know whats going on here?

Go to Displays and option-click the "Scaled" option for the given monitor. 2560x1600 should appear as the topmost option.

You need a duel link DVI adapter for full resolution.
