finder cannot show contents???

I have a disk with 2 partitions which suddenly I cannot see the contents
via finder in lion. The contents are present, and can be accessed by any and all other programs. What to do?

Logging out and back in usually fixes this, as does restarting, or restarting just the Finder.
It's a bug.
