iPhone 4S runs hot for you?

Hi

When my iPhone 4S 64gb runs the infinity blade 2 game, the back of my phone gets pretty hot....

Also when my phone received bad signals, and keeps searching for stronger ones, it runs a bit hot as well....

Is it a software thing?
Also is putting a bumper on causing this problem?

It's the battery, I'm pretty sure. I wouldn't worry about it too much unless it combusts. And the case isn't causing it.
