Hi

I was looking into the 15" macbook pro and I hear alot of users raveing about SSD but is there much performance gain over a 7200rpm drive? I mainly couch and bed surf and love to have the power under the hood when needed to play the odd game I have 2 options:

# 2.66GHz Intel Core i7
# 4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
# 500GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200 rpm
# SuperDrive 8x (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
# MacBook Pro 15-inch Hi-Res Glossy Widescreen Display
£1919

# 2.66GHz Intel Core i7
# 4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
# 128GB Solid State Drive
# SuperDrive 8x (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
# MacBook Pro 15-inch Hi-Res Glossy Widescreen Display
£2039

Now ive been useing an old sony vaio FZ31s which is 2.8kg and about the size of the 17" all but an extra 5Cm in width! but im thinking maybe to big for bed and couch surfing?
I did look into this

# 2.66GHz Intel Core i7
# 4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2X2GB
# 500GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200 rpm
# MacBook Pro 17-inch Hi-Resolution Glossy Widescreen Display

But the 512mb of GPU ram puts me off with such a large screen! does it struggle?

I may get bitten by the iPad down the line just for messing around outdoors but waiting till stuff irons out or the gen 2

So whats good and not so?
