As we've all read, there are some 12PB owners who have had some glitches with their machine. I myself own a 12PB and have come up with some tips and tricks to keep your shiny (literally) new PB the sexy machine it was, out of the box.

Glitch: Screen Warping
Cause: The "Yao Ming Grab"
Detail: Some have reported their machines have screens that warp away from the base at the corners when closed. I believe that this is happening for one simple reason: we tend to grab our notebooks by the front (latch side) when closed - like Yao Ming does in the Yao/Verne TV ad. Well the 12PB has those little feet at the corners of the screen as we all know. Grabbing the 12PB by the front-center will compress it downward. Note this is minimized as the trackpad's button supports the screen at the very top to act like one of those feet, for the center, but, it is a button after all, and depressable, and therefore subject to more compression than the corners.
Effect: Repeated "Yao Ming Grab"'s, will warp the screen a little more every time you do so.
Solution: Apply lovingly gentle reverse force, don't over stress if you screen is very warped. Gauge this by LCD stress discoloration - you should stop increasing force when the LCD starts to ripple. To reshape the screen in such a warped case, apply such "lovingly gentle reverse force" repeatedly until problem is solved.
Prevention: Grab it by the hinged side. That hinge on the back is one damn-solid hardpoint.

Glitch: Wakes Up When Still Closed
Cause: Probably due to screen warpage.
Detail: That funny little magnetic switch under the right arow key is one sensitive little bugger. If your screen is even slightly warped - say 4mm or so clearance on the right "little foot", this might start to happen This is just one possible, but the most likely cause.
Effect: Well, it wakes up when closed due to cantilevering of a warped screen.
Solution: See the solution to screen warpage above.
Prevention: Stop "Yoa Ming"-ing it by the latch side! Do it by the hinge!

Glitch: Dead Computer
Cause: Mal-timed relaxation of phalangeal musculature.
Effect: Sudden acceleration downward of computer; gasps; panic; impact; weeping.
Solution: Cry vigorously, this is a Mac, not spilled milk.
Prevention: Care for your 12PB, love your 12PB, talk to your 12PB, stroke your 12PB - well, maybe that's taking a bit too far...

...or maybe not.

Sorry guys, I didn't want to end up being TOO serious here. :D
