A month or so ago my Anker PD charger next to my bed died and I replaced it with the RavPower PD Pioneer 65W charger as it had two type C ports for my phone and ipad as well as two QC ports for a wireless charger. it has worked fine in the week or so I’ve had it but the other night I was curious about what specs it was charging at. I plugged in a USB C tester and noticed that the iPad was charging at 11.5v (12v) spec at around 1.5 amps so 18 watts-ish. I know that USB Power Delivery 1.0 spec included the 12v rail but Ive never seen an iOS device or a MacBook utilize it nor support it from what I can find on the Internet. If i unplug the USB C to Lightning cable the charger bumps to the 15v rail when the iPad is connected. It seems to be fine and not doing any harm but will this hurt my iPad in the long run charging with an unsupported spec? I’m assuming the iPad wouldn’t charge unless it wouldn’t hurt it.
