That's really sweet and while he clearly did it I was under the impression that new tricks didn't really "count" until they were landed in a competition.

Im not discounting what he did. It's amazing. I just thought I recalled Tony Hawk's 900 not counting until he did in a comp

That's sweet, but I think we are still a ways off from one being landed in a normal competition. He did it on the super ramp in California. That's a lot different from a regular size competition half pipe.
