Hi guys I just have a quick question about my MBP. I currently have 4GB of ram and I know that it can reach 8GB but my question is, will the machine run ok if I put 6GB in? 1x2GB 1x4GB? I know with a Mac Pro desktop it is important to arrange the ram in a certain way, I was just wondering is the same applied to the MBP?

Cheers.

it won't run dual channel, but that won't be nearly as much of a performance hit as not having enough ram. 6GB will run fine. (I have 5 in mine, 1x4GB and 1x1GB).

make sure you search before you ask- this has been discussed before.
