13" 2011 MBP trackpad problems on low battery

Hello.

I have a 13" Early 2011 MBP as a backup machine.

Recently, when on low battery, the trackpad is acting up. It takes three or four clicks before it actually works/clicks something and scrolling doesn't work properly too (extremely jerky/unresponsive).

What could be the problem?
