Hey guys, I am ready to upgrade from my 2009 MacBook Pro and am torn on which to choose.
I primarily will be using it for video editing on FC X. I love how the 2016 space grey model looks and how thin it is, but the lack of an SD card slot is a bummer. Fully loaded 13" (3.3GHz dual-core Intel Core i7 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.6GH, 16GB 2133MHz memory, 1TB PCIe-based SSD) it comes out to $2,900 before taxes.
OR
2015 15" MB Pro, fully loaded as (2.8 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB) for $2300 on Craigslist with Apple Care included until 2018. If that doesn't pan out, a refurbished model on Apple's store is $2620 before taxes.
OR
2016 15" model, but only upgrading the processor to 2.9ghz quad core, but staying at 512GB storage for $100 more than the 13" fully loaded before taxes.
Then I would need to shell out an additional $300 for FC X, and for a dongle hub for my USB and SD Card.
Please help! 2016 model is so much more expensive. The CL seller said once he received his 2016 model, he'd sell his for $2300 which is almost $1000 cheaper.
