Here is my situation. I am currently saving up for a MacBook Pro (or iMac). I will only use it for YouTube, papers because I'm going to be a Freshman next year, and light Internet usage. I use to have a 15" Acer laptop and it wasn't very portable so I'm looking for a portable laptop. I also want one that loads fast as my old laptop was slow. With all this inconsideration and since I have an iPad which do you think will be best for me; the 13.3" low or high end model, 15" low end model, or the 21.5" low end model iMac?

The 13.3 low end should meet your needs.

Well first off I'd rule the iMac out, for college use, not really practical enough. As for MBP you have to decide whether portability or screen real estate is more impotant to you. For me it's portability, and unless your doing graphics or something you probably won't need a 15" screen.

I have my 13" hooked upto an external display when I need a bigger screen.

Have you considered the MacBook air, for just watching YouTube and writing papers it probably will be quicker than MBP because of the SSD

Thank you for your reply. I was thinking the same. Now summer needs to get her so I can mow lawns for money. Thanks again

I have indeed looked at the MacBook Air and the only model I can afford, I am saving the money on my own, is the 11.6" model and that's way too small. I think for my tasks the base model should do.

Yeah, I wouldn't get the 11" one. Don't forget that you will get a student discount in July / august time.
