Not many threads about the 13" :)

I bought the i5/16/512 - i'm happy with it and won't be returning it since it has 0 issues (yay).
CPU heavy lifting will be done by the Mini i7.

But, I'm gonna use this one for Mainstage live - would I get any significant boost from the i7 since they both have multithreading, and max turbo is thermally limited anyway?
Main stage will most certainly run on at least two cores, so single-core boost is probably not important, nor do i do anything where Cache would matter much.

I've already made my decision, just looking for some confirmation to quench my dormant OCD.

oh, my geek bench score is pretty decent:

I would say the i7 is probably not worth the extra cost, especially if it means you cannot choose more RAM or storage. If money is not a concern then, why not? Otherwise I would skip it. Here is the Geekbench from my i7/16/1:

Not much better than what you are getting with your i5.

The i5 might wind up running faster on large projects or heavy workloads by not exhibiting thermal throttling that hits the i7 faster.

Either way, I would stick with what you got. You pay a huge premium for a small performance increase.

Yeah, I'm quite happy with it!
Used it on a lecture today, hooked on an external projector running logic pro (single track examples) and i think it only started fans at 1300rpm for a half an hour than dropped back to 0.
I really love this lil bugger

It’s a lot of power in a little machine! They’re awesome!

If I had the need for a smaller laptop I would not hestitate to pick one up. I have been loving the 15” too damn much, personally.
