Both machines handle photoshop, illustrator, etc. with ease.

However, I have to run windows for some industry specific applications. (64 Bit Windows 7 using Parallels 6).

The Mac Air runs Windows 7 (64 bit) faster, and the fan never turns on (ever) while running Windows 7 (64) bit.

The only time my Mac Air's fan turned on was when it was brand new and it was indexing the hard drive.

My 11" 1.8GHz i7 is virtually the same speed as my 2006 2.66Ghz quad Xeon Mac Pro.

Actually, according to Geekbench and Cinebench, its memory throughput is faster, it's processor speed is nearly the same (mid 5000's), and is only beaten in OpenGL graphics speed (nVidia 8800GT vs Intel HD 3000).

35 lbs vs. 2.5 lbs. Impressive.
