Microcenter just put up the 2.26ghz macbook pro 13 for a straight up 999 new no rebates. I just got the email and thought I'd pass it on for anyone looking who wasn't waiting for arrandale. It's the same price as a refurbished, but for a new one.

They also still have the unibody white mackbook 2.26ghz 13 inch for 799 new also without rebates or anything now.

It's only avail in CA, CO, GA, IL, KS, MA, MD, MI, MN, MO, NJ, NY, OH, PA, TX, VA for local pickup.

Don't bother flaming/saying to wait for update etc. I'm just passing this info along incase people were looking for one still. And PS new york residents, go to the NJ store, you'll save 5% on sales tax.

Our local Apple store priced matched the regular MB. No arguing, no issues.

Did you have to print out an ad or something? The website isn't showing me the sale price...

EDIT: NM, had to add to cart first.

I printed the specs to show it was the same machine, then I added it to the cart and printed the shop cart page.

Thanks OP, but I just realized that with tax and the CA Recycle Fee, it comes out to $1,100, about the same price on Amazon. No need to jump on this then. Guess I'm stuck waiting for Arrandale.

true.. which really sucks.. because of all the stupid fees unless you can get it PMed at Best Buy or Fry's possibly if they are willing to give you 10% off the PM price which the 10% will most likely cover the fees and tax.

This makes me wonder why they are selling them at such a discounted price? They trying to get rid of their stock of MBs and MBPs?

Possibly trying to get rid of the MBPs.
the MBs are just always discounted since like for months or even years already.
