I am going to buy a macbook pro this weekend and cannot decide if the price difference between the 2 13 inch macbook pros is worth the difference. Besides 2gb of ram and a little hard drive is that ram worth it. Also I have never owned a mac before are they really that incombatible with things. Sorry for the bad spelling. Thanx guys for the advice.

Yes, you can upgrade the RAM and HD cheaper yourself

And no, Macs are not "really that incombatible with things"
Tell us what you want to do, and we will guide you to the solution

Given the educational discount, Apple's prices are:

13" 2.26 upgraded to 4gb RAM 250gb HDD = $1234
13" 2.53 standard w/ 4gb RAM 250gb HDD = $1399

So, if the processing power is worth $165, then go for the 2.53. Otherwise, go for the 2.26 and upgrade it yourself, or have Apple do it.
