13 inch retina and returns

Ok, so I start school the 2nd week of September and I need a new laptop asap. I can wait about two Weeks after school starts to buy a laptop. If I buy a mbp on Sept 17 and the new 13 inch retina is announced on the 21 could I return the mbp?? Moreover, would buying from bestbuy allow me to game the system for longer?

As the return period is 14 days, buying something on the 17th will give you till the end of the month to return that something.
You can repeat that game probably twice with Apple or Best Buy.

I think it changed to 30 days for all products. At least that's what their website said the last time I checked.

The store is currently down, thus I cannot provide a quote from there, but the Apple Legal site says this:

For iPhone returns, you may return your undamaged iPhone with its included accessories within 30 days of purchase for a full refund. Just wait. Use the school computers in the meantime. I don't think you absolutely NEED one. Even if the school requires it, you can say you're waiting on financial aid for the purchase. But school computers should suffice.

Buy from Apple not a reseller you'll get better exchange policy, eventually.
