$49 cheaper than edu discount. Looks like they have Sky Blue and Midnight listed.

I was able to get Best Buy to price match on Wednesday. have 15 days to return if I don't like what I see after the teardown

From the BB website. I may have to give this a try.

Whoa, nice find. Also $1019 on the 16/512 configuration, which is a crazy good deal on the model I'd want. I don't really need the upgrade, but if BB would price match this...

True, but keep in mind if going 512gb for speed no need since base 256gb is two nands and not hampered like M2 was.

I really hate when stores do this. They buy a very small quantity of a product just to bait people into the store. If you look the sky blue is sold out in every single store. They probably got one or two per store just so they can put that ad up.

I got an iMac Pro when it was first released from Microcenter and received a $1,000 discount ($4000 vs $5000 list). The sale was real and a good deal.

That really is a great deal!

I tried to make 256 GB work on my last Air, though, and it did not go well. I'd originally thought I'd use it "only" for writing and some general email/web type stuff. But then I started doing a bit more design work on it and found myself doing a lot of Sophie's Choice stuff, shunting files on and off cloud storage. In the end I was actually using a 256 GB flash drive on the thing like it was 2010 or something. To me, the extra $200 for the storage upgrade saves me a ton of headaches.

edit: I see now MicroCenter is also offering the 512 GB version for only $20 more than Apple is selling the base model for. This to me is the real steal!

I picked up my 15" M4 16/256 from Best Buy this morning. They price matched micro center without question. Got the MacBook for $1019, and had a member coupon in my account which brought it down to $989. That's insane
Nice. Microcenter has about 3 in stock at each store. I’m surprised Best Buy matched it since they actually have more in stock. Too bad Microcenter doesn’t have a 1TB model for sale.

First 15" Air? Enjoy!

I went 13" midnight to switch it up since I am tempted to keep my 15" M2 alongside it (in different color too, silver) ao I never have machine FOMO or second guesses..there was nothing really wrong with it lol I just think 13" will be better for travel which I never bring my 15" when I fly, and when laying down in bed / on couch. Sitting up and on lap 15" is fine and on desk its supreme but I had 13" laptops for the longest time so it's nice to have one again. They both have their strengths but I figured new SoC, 16GB, faster NAND than M2, smaller form, and different color at that price all makes it a worthy route. The roominess of the 15" is still so great when I compare to it and nice to have/experience.

I also think the silver MagSafe cable is a nice contrast to plug into the midnight 13". I dont wanna give up my dual 35w usb-c charger or that cable which you'd have to to give to BB and $600 (not shabby but I dont necessarily want a BB gift card) and you'd have to initiate trade in at time of purchase and trade in to complete the pick up sale of the M4, I dont like to trade in devices at point of purchase in case something goes wrong with the new unit or I regret not having my previous device. Apple gives $540 trade in which I'd consider, and no charger or charge cable needed either there.. but I already have some gift cards on hold for a future iPhone purchase and not really eyeing anything else at the moment.

What's interesting is the keyboard feels clicker on my M4 compared to my 15" M2 (and someone else's M2 13" I checked for reference) not that that had a mushy one. And the contrast and black levels are a little bit better when running the same trailer on both machines. The off axis shift/clarity is less dramatic compared to my 15" when scrutinizing.. So that's a nice plus. But maybe down to panel lotto.

And I didn't get a grainy trackpad, something that has plagued M2-M4 Airs and fortunate my 15" isn't like that either.

Costco.co.uk have already done 2 further price drops this week, after initially listing the base 13” for £949 on Wednesday (RRP is £1000). It’s now down to £914.98.

Really didn’t expect discounts so quickly after launch.

Just did a price match with BesyBuy. Easy peasy. Was a total member so it was already 45 off and less trading: cost $322.

That's a great deal. However, 256GB of storage might be limiting. 512GB of storage would be better. If a similar deal can be found at a storage tier higher, I would get that instead.
