13" Macbook pro (mid 2009) hard disk replacement (white screen)

Hi, i bought a 13" Macbook Pro (mid 2009) last week and i bought the 2gb/160gb moel. I have upgraded the memory to 4gb and today my 2.5" sata Western Digital Scorpio Blue (500gb) arrived, i followed the steps and replaced the hard disk, however when i turn the machine on i just get a blank white screen, i inserted the Install disk that came with it and i was instructed by the apple staff to hold the c button to book the disk, this doesn't seem to work, also i cant eject the disc either and i have tried holding down the trackpad while starting up.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

13" Macbook pro hard drive replacement

Did you transfer your files from your old hard drive to your new one? If you didn't, then you can do so with the kit from this site:http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Newer Technology/U2NV2SPATA/
It's $30, but it's worth it -- they work very well.
