13' Macbook Pro Preview scroll slow

Have a 2013-late version 13' RMBP, with the latest operating system 10.9.1 installed.

Here comes the issue about the app Preview:

When I read a large .pdf file imbeded with multiple pictures via Preview, (I chose 2-page scroll instead of continuous) it becomes sluggish and choppy when I scroll in any direction. This problem can be reduced by changing to continuous scroll, however it still sustains.

Does anyone know how to solve this particular problem?

Try restarting and then only running Preview. Any better?

Is it like this with all big PDFs or just one?


What are your specs for RAM and CPU?
