Hi Guys,

I received my brand new 13'' rMBP on Tuesday and it was dead on arrival. The entire machine locked up soon after (5mins) after the setup procedure was complete (Welcome Screen, T&C's etc...). I opened up Safari and the whole machine froze (clearly not normal behaviour for a brand new MacBook!). I rebooted the machine and it froze at the login screen (no mouse or keyboard response). I tried rebooting a few times and each time, I got stuck at the login screen. I called Apple that night and they got me to do an SMC Reset & PRAM Reset (To no avail) then an Erase and Install. The Erase and Install made the problem even worse and I could not even boot the machine up (it froze at the Black Apple 'Loading' Screen). Long story short, I called them up on Wednesday to organize a replacement. This process was much less of a hassle than I feared it would be. My question is does Apple wait for my broken machine to arrive at their warehouse/HQ to start the process of getting my replacement ready? (mine is a CTO model - takes a while to build; 16GB RAM and the i7 from the Apple Online Store). I only ask because it appears TNT has delayed my old machine getting to Apple. Also, my order status reads 'Replacement 13'' Macbook Pro With Retina Display - Delivers by 11/03 - 13/03'. Would this be accurate or would this date be generated assuming this was a 'normal' (non replacement) order.

Thanks for you help.
