I have a sony EX4/400 HDTV (40" LCD 1080P) TV. Hooked the 13" Macbook Pro up to it using a mini dv to hdmi connector and a regular HDMI cable. It was my understanding that audio was transmitted through the most recent mini dv ports on macbooks, but no audio seems to be following out.

Any help with this? There also is no option for outputting 1920xwhatever1080p is. 1900x600 looks decent though, but i lose a bit of the dock and the top apple bar.

Thanks!

Are you 100% sure your mini displayport to HDMI adapter passes audio? A lot of them do not, especially if you bought on ebay or something.

You also need to set your sound preferences to output sound to HDMI.

Regarding display resolution, select the item labelled "1080p". There is no 1920x1080 option listed; probably because it's the same as 1080p.
