eBay's got what seems like a pretty good deal on a new, unopened 13.3" Macbook Pro -- it's 20% off. This seems like a pretty great deal. I've been needing to get a new laptop for home anyhow; I used to use my old work computer but switched jobs. It seems like new Macbooks might be coming soon, but even still, this seems like a good deal. Thoughts?

I'm wondering the same. New Macbooks are very likely a month or two away, but I don't really need the very latest, so I'm thinking of going with a new 2015 Macbook to save some dough. Is now the best time, or (based on prior years) is a few days AFTER the release of a new model the best time to get a deal on an older one?

I believe so. As long as it's still under the 1-year apple warranty, you can buy apple care, and the seller says it comes with the 1-year apple warranty. A couple of commenters on the ebay thread seem to indicate they got apple care as well.

I think that is a darn good deal. No sales tax (most likely) just makes it even better. You are protected with paypal if there are any issues in the first 6 months.

i just bought one for 1199 that comes with major software, latest office etc.
