That article seems to imply that Apple will soon be dropping the macbook because it is not a valuable addition to Apple's laptop line. I could see apple making the white macbook an education store only laptop, similar to the 17'' iMac I think.

I don't see this happening, only because having a MacBook Pro and no MacBook would seem odd. There's always been a consumer-oriented machine and a "Pro"-machine. But, to be fair, that's not reason enough not to drop the MacBook.

Personally, I'm hoping they drop the price of the white MB and reintroduce the Black MB. Flesh out the MB line again, and have an Apple notebook starting at ~$799. There are even rumours of a 10" MacBook that suddenly seem more credible with the only MacBook presently being the white one...
