13" MBP 10.7.5 update- issue/question

I updated my gf's 13" MPB (2.3ghz, i5, 4GB RAM) recently to 10.7.5. Ever since then Safari has been slower and she occasionally gets the spinning beach ball.

Did I do a bad thing? What's the problem/fix if so?
