So i have a 13.3" 2015 MBP (8gb, 256) and was looking at upgrading. Was thinking about the new air, but was wondering if it is worth it? I do not do much heavy lifting with my computer (youtube, email, docs/slides, etc). Would the air be a noticable upgrade over the MBP?

I wouldn’t think so. The performance is pretty similar from my understanding, however they have introduced HEVC support so will perform better in some specific video situations. It will also support Sidecar while the 2015 Pro will not. That’s a lot of money to spend to get similar performance and sidecar support. And we don’t know how the 2019 keyboard is going to shake out.

My gut feel is no, or wait 3 months and see what the keyboard is like.

But if your battery is toast and you’re already looking at having to spend some money anyway, maybe that’s a different story.

I swapped from a 2015 MBP to a current Air. I do always max them out on processor and ram though and also opted for the 500gb drive.

Love its portability and battery life.

Almost considered the MacBook but when upgraded there was little in the cost and 1” smaller so glad I opted for the air.
