13" mbp applecare on ebay - need to get one with a box?

From all of the threads i've read, basically a lot of people who bought applecare on ebay without the box are getting scammed. They keys were most likely made with keygens, and unless you have a recept from an authorized dealer, or the box with the serial number, apple will void our waranty.

So I need to buy applecare off ebay that comes with the box. I know this will cost more, but it is worth it so that it is valid.

Does anyone see applecare including the box on ebay often?

The legit ones will send you the box if you request it, otherwise the common practice is to e-mail codes.

Yeah, I was wondering about this too. Is there a good way to distinguish a legit dealer from someone who's not?

I just bought my mbp, so I guess I have 11 months to decide. It's a good thing to know, since being scammed is never fun :/

Like the above poster said, if they say they ship the box to you, or if you ask and they say they will ship, then it is legit. I emailed a couple and they said they do NOT ship the boxes.

what if you do get the serial via email and its 'legit' and you can register it..

does it mean apple can remove it later cause you wont have any proof (the box) that you bought the applecare?

Yes, but you need the receipt from an authorized reseller. I guess it's because anyone can package a box to look authentic - Apple is specifically asking for the receipt.
