Hey Guys!

New to the forum and got a quick question. This is the scenerio:

Buying a MBP 13" 2.66GHz in the next week or so for university however when I'm home I want to hook it upto a LED monitor 23/24" - possibly this LG W2486L one, with a wireless keyboard etc. Just wondering whats the maximum resolution? will it support full 1920 x 1080?

Was thinking about using the Monitor with the MBP closed over, is this possible?

Thanx for your help!

Yes you CAN use it closed, just have to enable the function while its open - only initially and it'll work from then on out.

I cannot recall what the max external display res is; but for context my late 2009 Mac Mini with 9400M embedded chipset - inferior to MBP's 310M - can do 1680x1050 so I'm pretty sure you'll do just fine at 1920x1080. Still not sure why you require that kind of resolution though.

Also a good resource for information of a product, especially an Apple product, is the official homepage of the manufacturer and the official product page, as it offers the so-called technical specifications for unsaid product.
Example

I actually glanced at that page, somehow managed to miss
...up to 2560 by 1600 pixels on an external display

Thanx!
