Hello, I have a new 13" MBP and I want to put a HDD in it for storage, it already has a SSD in it. Can I use any 2.5 HDD or does it have to be a specific one? Thanks

You need an optibay or similar to swap out your optical drive for space of another harddisk if you want to put it internally.

If you want to swap out the SSD against an HDD then just buy a recent SATA 2.5inch notebook harddisk drive. Any recent will do. And I will give you the address to send the SSD to. ;)

I ordered it with a 128GB SSD, I was told I could put another 2.5" HDD in for storage, I'm pretty sure it just sits next to the SSD because there's no optical drive.

Not looking to replace the SSD, that will be for the OS and a few programs

Do you mean you took out the optical drive? Or you it came without one?

You can definitely put an HDD in place of the the optical drive (its what I have).

This is what you will need.
