since the intel HD 3000 is an integrated GPU, i was wondering if i'd notice a difference in performance if i'd upgraded the RAM. i've read on the forum that people with 8GB RAM have 512mb instead of 384, but do you notice a difference in performance? espec game-wise? i'm not expecting to run the latest games in highest settings ... but i wouldn't mind being able to play (in bootcamp) older episodes of splintercell, the prince of persia-trilogy, portal, half life 2, halo, older eps of NFS, Dirt etc.

i have a pc desktop for heavy gaming, so i'm not really looking for a gaming platform, i'd use my MBP for:
1. being mobile (i travel a lot).
2. run music programs such as ableton.
3. since i travel a lot i'd like to be able do some light gaming while waiting.

oh yeah,
new here! been lurking for a while, though.

Extra RAM won't make a difference for those tasks that require 3D.

The GPU works fine for all but the most demanding games.
