13" MBP (no touchbar) i7 upgrade worth it?

Decided to get the non-touchbar 13" MBP with 16GB ram. (the touchbar does not interest me)
Not sure if it's worth spending the extra $300 for the i7 upgrade too?
My uses are mostly simple but I want to keep this laptop in top form for 5-6 years...

Any suggestions?

The i5 processor used is actually very good. Keep in mind Apple put very fast SSD's in this computer. Do a Google search for tests and see for yourself. Unless you're doing a lot of intense video editing I don't think you'll need the i7 or 16gb of ram.
