Okay so I THOUGHT I had been having problems with my new 13" MBP because when I turned it on the SCREEN would come on and then go off. Just as I put it on top of my older MB the screen went off, when I took it off and set it somewhere else it came back on. I tried it a few times and it continued to do this.. This is very odd and wondered if anyone else has experienced this??

I remember reading a similar thread here a while ago. Essentially your MBP is receiving harmful interference from the MB. As the saying goes, if it hurts, don't do it.

the macbooks use magnetic sensors to sense when the screen is near the bottom (closed position) so it puts the machine/display to sleep. I bet what is happening is when your setting it atop the other macbook its picking up the magnetic field thinking its the screen being closed and turns off.
