I see a lot of people ordering the 13" with 16gb ram a 1 TB storage. Am I missing something? I don't see that option on the Apple site. Yes, I'm a newbie....please be gentle.

When you select any of the 13" or 15" models, you'll be offered the option to bump the specs. It will be self explanatory when you click the Buy button - you'll have a chance to choose what you want.
It is up there. I checked and you have to select the touch bar model that starts with 512GB SSD. On the BTO screen it gives an option for the 1TB SSD, and both models have a 16GB RAM option. This is the $1999 (US pricing) model you need to select, not $1799.
