Just my luck, a couple of months after my 3 year AppleCare warranty expired, my MacBook Pro 13" is suddenly showing a number of horizontal black lines across the bottom of the screen. They are intermittent, and get worse when it has been powered on for a while. I'm guessing they are caused by the ribbon cable in the hinge starting to fail.
