I've had a 13" MBP for about a week now. Yesterday I noticed that my computer wasn't sleeping after the specified amount of time. The display sleeps, but the computer doesn't actually sleep. I can force it to sleep by closing the lid or selecting the option from the Apple menu in the top left of the screen.

So, I figured I would reset the SMC to see if it helped. I followed the directions for resetting the SMC on the new MBPs (with non-removable battery) but it simply doesn't work. The LED on my charger never turns off.

I followed these instructions: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1411

Is there anything else I can try, short of taking it in for a GB appointment? I'd really rather not for something so minor, but if this is all indicative of other power management issues I'd like to get it looked at.

If you can't reset the SMC I'd call that an issue worth taking it in for.
