13" Mid 2012 Macbook Pro Screen Problem

Hi all, I'm having a display problem with my 13" Mid 2012 Macbook Pro. After a little Googling, I was wondering if it may be an LCD or a LDVS cabling issue?

To my eye, that looks like a bunch of dirt on the screen. Could you set the desktop picture to plain white? It’s difficult to tell with a busy picture.
