Had my 13 mini just under a month. It's been fitted with a Spigen screen protector from new.

Recently (last few days) I've noticed the screen has become non-responsive to presses intermittently. This happened before I updated to 15.1 and continued after.

This is particularly noticeable in Safari and has happened on multiple websites - the screen will just stop responding to presses (but still scrolls). I have to close Safari completely and re-open it for it to work again.

I also have a 12 mini with the same brand of screen protector, and which is also on 15.1 and it doesn't have this problem.

Anyone else had issues like this?

Is this likely a software or hardware issue with my handset?

If it is software I'm sure Apple would get round to fixing it but it's really becoming annoying as it's happening dozens of times a day.

It sounds like your screen protector may be the culprit. Something may be just a hair off compared to the 12 mini install.
It looks perfectly installed, same as the 12 mini as both were fitted with the guide frame that is part of the Spigen EZ Fit protector. I've had it on since new and this touch issue has only been a problem for 4-5 days.

The protector could be rising just enough to be a problem and not enough to see from the side. I don't recall seeing other posts on this problem. My launch day mini hasn't had any such problem

If it was the screen protector, wouldn't the touch issue by permanent? It's happening maybe twice an hour. I can go on the MacRumors homepage and scroll around, press a link fine, then return to the homepage half an hour later and it won't respond to any presses at all until I close Safari and reopen it.

Not saying you're wrong, just doesn't seem likely to me.

If you have an extra protector, I would remove the installed protector and test the phone response. That will help narrow down if it is the protector, possible app bug, or OS bug.

Re-fitted the screen protector and haven't had a reoccurrence in the last 20-25 mins.

Thanks, looks like it may have been the culprit.
